This was one of the very first toys I’ve made - perhaps THE first. I didn’t understand then that amigurumi are often worked in continuous rounds rather than joined rounds. I assumed since the designer didn’t write “slip stitch to first stitch to join, chain 1” that this was an unspoken, and should be done anyway.
I also didn’t have felt for eyes, and didn’t have much money to buy any (yes, I know felt is cheap. I had no income at the time; the yarn was a gift). So I tried to make my own eyes with crochet.
I learned a lot from this project. Am I happy with it? HECK NO. The designer’s sample is so much cuter. Still, I’m including this here as an example of how far I’ve come.
It took me 10 hours and 17 minutes to make this softie.
